Agreement with the Office of Equity and Inclusion

In April 2014, the division signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of Equity & Inclusion in order to advance the following key diversity goals:

  • Advance a holistic approach to equity, inclusion, and diversity work, relying upon a comprehensive conceptual framework that aligns O&E efforts with university goals and approaches
  • Identify principal goals, objectives, implementation strategies, metrics, and assessment approaches in the dimensions of the conceptual framework:
  • Individual and unit-level capacity
  • Teaching, scholarship, and outreach
  • Access and success
  • Climate and sense of community
  • Develop and Monitor strategies to realize identified key objectives

As part of this MOU, the Office of Equity and Inclusion will:

  • Address leadership architecture; provide management for and oversee the diversity catalyst team’s work
  • Identify comprehensive key objectives using the conceptual framework
  • Develop strategies in conjunction with OE leadership on identified key objectives
  • Initiate strategy implementation in collaboration with OE work groups
  • Work with OE leadership and stakeholders to develop strategies to realize identified key objectives such as:
  • Individual and unit level capacity
  • Creating a more diverse organization to serve a more diverse population
  • Providing core training to support faculty and staff in their diversity outreach efforts
  • Access and Success
  • Mentoring and supporting minority faculty and staff for success
  • Work with OE leadership and stakeholders to monitor progress
