October 16 & 17, 2017!

The Outdoor Summit is a two-day adventure, convened by Oregon State University Outreach & Engagement, Travel Oregon, and Oregon State Parks. The summit will engage community leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and recreation businesses, public agencies, students, and educators from across the state in discussion, dialogue, and learning. 

The summit’s two keynote presenters are on the leading edge of the outdoor economy. Stacy Bare, Director of Sierra Club Outdoors, offers a powerful message about the health benefits of outdoor recreation and the possibilities for engaging diverse audiences. Luis Benitez, Director of Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office, creates a sweeping vision for the outdoor economy.

Target Audience:

Community leaders and outdoor enthusiasts, outdoor recreation businesses, public agencies, students, and educators.

Anticipated Outcomes Include:

  • Awareness of outdoor recreation priorities;
  • Fostering regional networks and connectivity;
  • Mobilizing people to contribute to statewide priorities; and
  • Identifying regional conveners.

Costs:

  • $10/day, which includes a continental breakfast and full luncheon each day
  • $25 to join for the Crop-Up dinner, a farm-to-table style dinner hosted by the Food Innovation Center. The dinner follows a Farmer's Market Walking Reception with local and OSU dairy, seafood, beer, horticulture, and agriculture 'edible research.'
  • $10/day - Parking passes can be purchased online. Recommended parking: B2 parking garage directly behind the CH2M Alumni Center. Select the parking pass option for Daily Parking Permit Zones B & C.
