Field Trips

NRLA participants get hands on with Oregon's natural resources issuesEach week classes will combine for a field trip to explore and experience Oregon's natural resources.

Week 1 - Bend

Included as part of the curriculum to enhance the learning outcomes, all participants will travel together to Bend, Oregon for an overnight stay to experience first hand natural resource environments and issues related to the topics covered within the four classes.

Transportation and lodging included. Additional details regarding what to wear, bring and expect coming soon.

Week 2 - Falls City

Included as part of the curriculum to enhance the learning outcomes, all participants will travel together to Falls City, Oregon for an afternoon to experience first hand natural resource environments and issues related to the topics covered within the three classes.

Week 2 - Sweet Home (applies to SNR 520 only)

Additionally, SNR 520 students will visit Sweet Home, Ore. to engage with residents, community planners and land managers about social aspects of the rise and fall of the timber industry in the context of sustainable natural resources. In particular, the group will discuss community resilience while visiting locations that have adapted in order to be socially sustainable
