OSU launches new leadership development program

Eleven Oregon State University employees have been accepted into a new leadership development program, offered through the Division of University Outreach and Engagement.

The Leadership Development Program for Executives launches this September and covers a wide range of topics, including: leading change, navigating difficult conversations, conflict management, building effective teams, as well as topics identified by participants through self assessments.

“This program equips participants to take on leadership roles within the division, or wherever their career may take them,” said Deborah Maddy, associate vice provost for University Outreach and Engagement. “I think this will be a transformative experience for everyone involved.”

The 12-month curriculum includes face-to-face training, coaching sessions, readings, online classes and discussion boards. One unique component is the ‘leadership fellow’ experience, which pairs each participant with a mentor.
