Linda Brewer College of Agricultural Sciences

Linda Brewer serves many valuable roles for many units at Oregon State University, and in all of them she is known for her diligence and follow-through. The next time she lets something slip through the cracks will be the first time.

Her résumé includes duties as the coordinator of the Ecampus horticulture online degree program. Linda epitomizes what the Ecampus Project Development and Training team looks for in a program coordinator: She works well with all units of Extended Campus, easily facilitates their communication with the horticulture faculty, and continuously collaborates with instructors to give students a broader selection of online courses.

In 2007, Linda led a smooth transition for 140 campus- and field-based faculty members when the Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Extension Program switched to a new reporting system. Her expert training on how to use the software has led to 98 percent reporting by program faculty members statewide.

And Linda also serves as program manager of the nationally renowned OSU Small Farms Conference. During her tenure, the programming has increased from a single track to seven parallel tracks that meet production, marketing, policy and outreach education needs for producers, food systems communities and farmers’ market managers.
